CFUW members are active in public affairs, working to raise the social, economic and legal status of women, as well as improve education, the environment, peace and human rights for all. Our organization is open to any woman who has graduated from a Canadian University or an approved International University; or has earned a professional qualification that currently requires a university or college degree.

The Owen Sound CFUW Scholarship Program's mandate is to encourage young women in our community to pursue post-secondary education. To that end, the Scholarship Fund offers scholarships to young women graduating from secondary schools in June and proceeding to university in the fall of each year. Scholarships are offered at each of Owen Sound's three secondary schools yearly, and are funded solely by annual donations from CFUW members. Their generosity has allowed the Scholarship Fund Program to disburse over $14,000.00 since its inception in 1993. The CFUW Scholarship Fund is registered as a not-for-profit corporation in Ontario, and is a Registered Charity under the terms of the Income Tax Act (Federal), thus allowing the Fund to issue official tax receipts for donations.
